New European Bauhaus: Exciting festival with events all over Europe: Be part of it!
For the first time, the Commission will host a Festival dedicated to the New European Bauhaus (NEB) from June 9 to 12. The Festival of the New European Bauhaus will bring together people from all walks of life to explore, discuss, and design a beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive future. But what is the New European Bauhaus?
The New European Bauhaus is a „new cultural project for Europe,“ according to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. It is based on the original Bauhaus movement ideals – to revolutionize the relationships between different disciplines – but updated to the challenges of the twenty-first century, namely design, sustainability, accessibility, affordability and investment.
The festival gives a forum to speakers from architecture, art, politics and other backgrounds. I am honored to speak on 10 June at the conference „The Emperor’s New Clothes: How to rethink fashion?“ (19.00-20.00h). The festival will not only take place in Brussels but all across Europe and also online. Register here to join: https://register.new-european-bauhaus-festival.eu/register or discover the whole programme with all the events on the official website: https://new-european-bauhaus-festival.eu/schedule.
In the course of the NEB, a STOA workshop will also take place on Monday, 13 June 2022 from 11 am to 1 pm. The results of the study „The Green Deal ambition: Technology, creativity and arts for environmental sustainability“ will be presented. Guests from all over Europe have been invited to Brussels to discuss the policy options and suggestions. As Chairman of the STOA panel (the Think Tank of the European Parliament), I will open and close the event. Again, you are cordially invited to attend. Registration is possible here: https://www.europarl.europa.eu/stoa/en/events/details/new-european-bauhaus/20220524WKS04221.
