Negotiators have reached agreement on the overarching design of the EU’s next R&D programme Horizon Europe, putting it on track for its 2021 launch, the European Commission has said.
Representatives of the European Parliament, the Commission and national governments in the Council of the EU reached a partial political agreement on the regulation for Horizon Europe in the very early morning of 20 March. It was their last chance to do so before the European elections in May, and required an emergency sixth session to resolve their differences of opinion.
